Feeling filled up from listening to people share their gratitude from across the world who are members of the same 12-step group that I am. A friend from Canada was especially thankful for being able to laugh at things and himself this year. I know that laughter is such a gift after having spent many years fighting with the seriousness of life.
Feeling filled up after a fantastic long run in the hood with the Paul dog. Ran into our good friend Vickie Karp walking her new puppy “Poco” around the block. Poco is also Paul’s “arranged marriage bride”. She recognized him immediately and was all over him but he just wanted to keep running. I don’t know where he found the energy to spring about the house tonight at 9pm when all of us were nodding off with full tummies but I had to throw him outside to burn some of it off at least twice!
Feeling filled up in my heart tonight after spending Thanksgiving dinner with good friends (Sandy Parham, Sandy Stone and Joe Brown) and the parents of one of our good friends (Sandy Parham and her mom Ruth and Dad Phil). Phil Parham was my Episcopal priest in San Antonio when we lived in Hollywood Park and my brother and I attended Coker Elementary. Our home tonight was so warm and cozy that we barely noticed the cold front that blew into the Hill Country–within hours the temperature dropped 30 degrees and rumor has it that we will get down into the 20’s by tomorrow.
Feeling filled up that all the dishes are done, house is cleaned up and the Kindle is waiting for me to continue reading my mystery alongside my husband tonight. I have a lot to be grateful for and most especially am feeling full in the heart.
I hope each of you have had a lovely day today no matter your tradition or culture. May you feel love and may your heart be full.
Love, Lynn
