Yesterday I received The Institute of Noetic Sciences’ 2007 Shift Report with the title, “Evidence of a World Transforming” and a quote by Willis Harman (Global Mind Change), “We are living through one of the most fundamental shifts in history—a change in the actual belief structure of Western society. No economic, political, or military power can compare with the power of a change of mind. By deliberately changing their images of reality, people are changing the world.” 
John O’Dea, President of IONS says, “This report is about the whole-scale change from an unsustainable way of life—mired in the contradictions of dogmatic religion and secular political power and fueled by rampant profiteering and the coercion of science—to one in which both science and spirituality reconfigure our most basic understandings of human consciousness and how to live harmoniously in a healthy and sustainable ecosphere. To paraphrase William Faulkner, it is our destiny to not only survive but to thrive.”
As an extremely intuitive person, “knowing” that our world is transforming yet being unable to communicate well with facts can be very frustrating. Because of all the research and work that IONS does to bring the evidence of world transformation to us, I am eternally grateful. Two things hit me this morning as I was reading the newspaper, the first idea was that even though the economy appears to be slowing down, perhaps this is an indication that humans are becoming more conscious of how we are spending our money and for what purpose and the second thought was how could I write about the economy slowing down as being a good thing for readers who are in their own business and who may be affected greatly. If you believe, like I do, that we are all connected consciously on some level then perhaps you can see that when a large human collective begins to shift into a new behavior pattern or thought process that it warrants our paying attention to it.
What if we chose to view the purported slowing down of the U.S. economy as an indication that our collective human consciousness is ready to do things differently? What if we chose to believe that this is the time, right now, for us to sit up and pay attention to our values and take action on how we want to show up as human beings so that together we can make differences in the results of things to come?
If not now, then when?
