Many years ago in a job not forgotten, I received two “visions” or more correctly two ideas. Each of these ideas had very specific pieces of information for how to carry them out. Since receiving them, I have done nothing towards either except to talk about them. On one of my runs recently, I noticed the beautiful Oak trees lining a neighbors’ yard but the Oaks had lots of scraggly branches hanging down that caused me to wonder about my own Oak trees and the “someday” time in my head for pruning the old, dead branches away so that the beautiful Oaks could shine. I wondered if I died tomorrow and didn’t get the trees trimmed what the evidence of my non-doing would say about me? It always amazes me when someone close to me dies because along with them goes any dreams, intentions or visions unless they have put them into motion.

In this month’s “Midheaven News” by one of my favorite Astrologers, Laura Waldman, part of the profile of “Mars in Aries” reads as follows:
Some people will be angry, arrogant or self-centered. Unfortunately, it can be a time of more battles and fires than usual. The best usage of this warrior planet is to be a hero or champion. The world needs protectors and advocates sometimes. Let the time bring you courage and take a risk, operating from Great Love. If you constantly cater to the needs of others, look out for #1 and discover that people are actually happier with you when you respect yourself. Monday June 11 can be a particularly productive day.
After listening to the President’s address today, this seems especially timely. I want to encourage you to apply the paragraph’s meaning personally with special emphasis on looking out for yourself – with Great Love – and notice how the people around you are responding to you. I wonder if sometimes we get so caught up in our lives that we don’t stop to think (and feel) about how we’re treating ourselves (much less how we are allowing others to treat us!).

Was it easy for you to name them? If it was, then name five more things. If you couldn’t come up with three then read on for some points to ponder. I don’t know if you’re like me, but for a large portion of my life I have been focused on the things that I don’t do well so that I can learn, grow and change myself into doing them well. This is a great intention in itself—to improve ourselves—however, it is just as important for us to take some time to notice the things that we also do well so that we can continue down the good road and thereby bring more good things into our world.

I have thrown my hat into the ring for the National Public Radio Talent Quest (you can hear me at http://www.publicradioquest.com/audio/user/52 and please vote) and I am suffering from huge “esprit d’escalier” because there are so many other two minute sound bytes that I could have submitted that would have better illustrated my ability to be “host-y”. It’s almost as if I set myself up to fail so that I could be in charge of losing and have a good excuse; however I think the main reason was that I absolutely do not know how to handle competition well. Either I want to win or I want to run away (insert Monty Python movie prose here). The truth is I don’t really know how to lose well.

For the past few weeks I’ve been reading Esther and Jerry Hicks’ (The Teachings of Abraham) book, “The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent” and listening to CDs from the “Art of Allowing” workshops. If the hairs on the back of your neck have just stood up cuz you’re worried that I am going to be referencing “woo-woo” materials, well I am—but you’re safe. In other words, you are all important no matter what your beliefs (or mine!) all I ask is for you to keep an open mind.
Esther and Jerry Hicks have been offering the Teachings of Abraham and were also part of “The Secret” film when it first came out but have since removed themselves from association with it. The teachings they present are about having a deliberate intent for whatever you want in life, while at the same time balancing your energy and living the Art of Allowing along the way. They note that the awareness of the need to balance your energy is much more significant than goal-setting or focusing on ultimate desires.
I believe, no matter what your belief system, that the premise of these teachings are very logical which keeps me paying attention to what is being said rather than to run off in a million directions because “Abraham” is a collective consciousness that Esther Hicks interprets. Over the course of the past weeks, I’ve formed an image in my head of a big gigantic series of locks (much like some big lock on a door) where when my intent and vibrations are in alignment, the locks sync up and “open the door” to all possibilities.
For example, I can send out the intent to the Universe that I want to have a very successful coaching business. I want to help people to align within themselves so that they can live the lives they truly want to live, I want to contribute money to running our household from my coaching earnings and I want to have fun while I’m coaching! The vibrations are about how I am “feeling” internally about coaching. Over the past year I’ve had the opportunity to catch and release many negative thoughts and feelings that weren’t in alignment with my intent. I had to learn to “let go” of what I wanted as well and to choose to feel hopeful about my working life even if all the evidence in front of me seemed to the contrary. Slowly I am attracting more clients and clients that are fun to coac!. I’ve also let go of how my coaching business looks and have applied for all sorts of part time (and some full time jobs) just in case “Source” has plans for me that I don’t comprehend right now. Even so, I keep getting redirected back into coaching. Today, my business is growing and I have the deep internal satisfaction of feeling safe and hopeful. I trust that all my needs are being met and will continue to be met as I walk along this coaching path. I am in the process of aligning my vibration rhythms with what I want.
If you were to sit down now and look to your left and envision what you wanted in your life and then turn to your right and “feel” where you are right now, can you tell if you are in alignment with what you are thinking and feeling? If you’re not, what steps can you take so that you are?
Write me about this, I’d love to hear from you.
